Ellis Rumley Projects is delighted to present THE FUTURE CAN WAIT for the fourth year running at its new location, Shoreditch Town Hall, Old Street.

With their tastes for the sinister, macabre and mysterious, Zavier Ellis, Director of the Old St gallery CHARLIE SMITH london, and Simon Rumley, notorious independent horror film maker, promise to make THE FUTURE CAN WAIT in the ghostly basement of Shoreditch Town Hall essential, challenging and beguiling viewing as Frieze’s only remaining legitimate satellite event.

Launched in 2007, THE FUTURE CAN WAIT was conceived as a complement to London’s Frieze week and an alternative to the art fair system with its emphasis on curatorial presentation. Featuring between 30 and 50 cutting edge London based or educated artists working across all mediums, THE FUTURE CAN WAIT has become a key barometer of London’s rising talent. 2010 will feature new work by THE FUTURE CAN WAIT regulars Emma Bennett, Sam Jackson, James Jessop, Gavin Nolan & John Stark whilst reintroducing Tessa Farmer and providing debuts for Dale Adcock, Dan Coombs, Jasper Joffe, Nika Neelova & Benjamin Senior.

All work is for sale and collector previews can be arranged.

Art Sleuth

“Laced with gems”

“If you want to know what’s really happening in the London art scene, don’t go to Saatchi, go to this. This show will be a blast, not a breath, of fresh air in an art world that badly needs just this.”
Edward Lucie-Smith

“Zavier Ellis' programme has a real buzz generated by a willingness to experiment and a keen-eyed identification of new talent.”
Paul Carey-Kent

“Zavier Ellis' glimpse of the future of contemporary art promises to span multiple mediums and we are reminded of his genuine pedigree at picking out talent at this stage.”
