Please sponsor me to climb Monte Rosa, Switzerland’s highest mountain at 4634m for Cancer Research UK.

Cancer has affected a number of friends and relatives in my life over the years and continues to. Their suffering is tragic and the loss of good friends and loved ones can be extremely painful. Unfortately it still affects one in three of us at some point in our lives. If you could help me make even a small difference I would be extremely happy. As a thank you and to inspire more donations to roll in. I will enter all the names of the sponsors in a hat after the climb and one lucky person will win a signed original oil mountain painting, painted by me.

My Story

I won the opportunity to Climb Monte Rosa through winning a photography competion run by the Guiding Company Mountain Tracks. And I want to make it clear that all expenses relating to the running of this trip have already been paid by Mountain Tracks and myself and 100% of your donation will go to Cancer Research UK.

This is not a Kilimanjaro style holiday trek under the auspices of giving to charity. I just want to turn a lucky win on my part into an even better win for other more unfortunate people. I will go this summer from the 11th-18th August. I do a lot of mountain climbing and it’s often seen as a pretty selfish sport. So this year, I thought I should approach it in a slightly different way.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving –they’ll never sell the on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

To be entered in the the painting prize draw please email me your name to alex.heaton@yahoo.co.uk

Please cheak out my website for more updates as the project develops and please forward this to any more people you think would be willing to help. Any amount no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you.

Alexander.
