Between Val di Funes and Val Gardena, there is the Odle mountain group. This famous mountain massif of the Dolomites is located between the Val di Funes and the Val Gardena, in the heart of the Puez-Odle nature park. The main peak of this mountain range is the Sass Rigais, which is 3,025 m high - like the neighbouring Furchetta. The Sass Rigais can be scaled both from Val Gardena and Val di Funes, via fixed-rope route. Alexander climbed the highest of these peaks solo in the summer of 2013.
